The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has announced the opening of registration for the Janana Traditional Dhow Races for the 22-foot class, the Salah Bu Naish Sailing Race, and the Tafiris Race. These events will be held on February 7th and 8th in the Al Dhafra and Al Mina areas. The schedule also includes a traditional diving race. These races are part of the club's sports calendar and are part of the 'Abu Dhabi 2026' Masters Games. Khalifa Al Remeithi, Head of Heritage Events at the club, confirmed that the opening of registration is part of early preparations for organizing these races. He noted that holding the races in Al Dhafra and Al Mina reflects the connection of traditional sports with the coastal environment in which they originated, and contributes to enhancing their community presence, in addition to providing the public with the opportunity to follow races that embody the values of authenticity and maritime skill. The club called on interested parties to register promptly within the specified deadlines, confirming its continued organization of traditional races that contribute to preserving the maritime identity and consolidating Abu Dhabi's status as a leading destination for traditional marine sports.
